In this issue we review the trends in reports of notifiable diseases among NSW residents received by the NSW public
health units for 2004. Readers interested in the details of notifications for specific diseases are referred to Tables 1–5
where diseases are reported by: year of onset, month of onset, number of cases and rate per 100,000 population by area health
service, and number of cases by age group and sex. Table 6 shows the number of people with notifiable conditions who were reported to have died by the time of follow-up by their local public health unit.
