Abstract

Ross River virus is an arbovirus predominately associated with rural Australia, although outbreaks have also occurred on the fringe of metropolitan areas. Periodically, notifications of Ross River virus infection in residents of the Wentworth Area Health Service have been reported, with the majority of these cases likely to be acquired locally.
