Abstract
The number of adults in NSW with their natural teeth is increasing; but, at the same time, so is the number of people with periodontal disease. Recent findings that pregnancy, diabetes and cardio-vascular disease may be associated with periodontal diseases represent the beginning of a new era in oral health awareness.
