Abstract
This article is the fifth in a series on suicide in New South Wales by the Mental Health Epidemiology Group. Its aim is to provide a quantitative account of suicide attempts and the associated mortality and morbidity in NSW during 1992 (the most recent year for which data were available) as context for consideration of the overall problem of suicide in NSW.
