Abstract

The number of births in NSW rose from 85,626 in 2004 to 96,030 in 2007, a rise of 12.2%. In 2008, the number of births stabilised with 96,343 births occurring to 94,864 mothers (Table 1). The number of multiple (twin and triplet) pregnancies has remained stable over recent years.
