There are five general article categories published in Public Health Research & Practice, and articles can be published in the Journal’s Online Early section to ensure their timely publication. Each category of article has its own purpose and is an important element in the mix of content we publish. Articles can be browsed by type, topic or issue date. For more details about the Editorial criteria we apply to these article types, please visit the Author centre.
Original quantitative or qualitative public health research, systematic reviews and research methods articles are central to our vision for the journal’s future and we encourage authors to submit papers in this category.
In Practice articles highlight real-world innovative public health programs and activities. These articles are designed to share experiences and approaches that others can learn from and use in their work.
Brief reports can include pilot data, methodological issues, or emerging issues of special relevance in strengthening public health practice.
